Everything You Want To Know About Aerobics Exercise
Aerobics is s special type of exercise which is generally categorized as exercises which involve rapid stepping patterns. Aerobics exercises are usually performed with accompanying music and with an instructor who gives the necessary instructions. After the publication of a book in 1970 written by Cooper named The New Aerobics, aerobics grew rapidly in popularity and it peaked in the 1980s. During that time, a lot of celebrities including Jane Fonda and Richard Simmons began creating their own aerobics videos and television shows to promote their aerobics exercises. Basically, there are two types of aerobics which are the Freestyle aerobics and the Pre-choreographed aerobics. Freestyle aerobics usually incorporate a kind of aerobic exercises that are closely linked to choreography and dance. They are mainly performed to enhance a person's flexibility. Most of the participants of this Freestyle aerobics exercising are usually young females and women aged 35 or above. Despite its popularity, many people still find a thousand and one excuses not to take up exercise including aerobics, especially not three workouts per week as required by most aerobics exercises. Most people will claim that they do not have enough time to spend, going to the gym or giving excuses that gym memberships are too expensive. However, for those who want a heart pumping workout in the comfort of their home, without expensive gym fees or spending time going to the gyms, there are still ways to do aerobics in the comfort of their homes. Since Jane Fonda's video on aerobics exercises came out, there have been many similar aerobics videos to choose from. There are low-impact aerobics videos as well as high-impact videos available. There are also specialist videos that cater to pregnant women and aerobic videos that cater to the elderly. Aerobics actually means with oxygen. The major fuel for aerobics is oxygen that is used to sustain the vigorous activity over long periods of time as aerobics exercise uses large muscle groups over a period of time. Generally speaking, aerobics exercises require the muscles to work hard to raise heart rate to between 60 and 80 percent of its maximum rate. Aerobics should be continuously performed for at least fifteen minutes, up to an hour. People who perform aerobics exercises regularly will be able to work longer and with more energy.
