Why Is Aerobic Sports Good For The Cardiovascular System
Many sports can be categorized as aerobic sports as they are able to give the same levels of conditioning as aerobic exercise do. Sports that can be considered aerobic sports include sports such as soccer, basketball, volleyball and similar sports. This is if they are played for duration of more than 20 minutes and at an intensity level of 60% or more as this is when the aerobic sports can provide good aerobic conditioning. The main point is that aerobic sports can provide enough activity for the player to get good cardiovascular training. Some of the aerobic sports that can provide good cardiovascular training include baseball and softball although these sports are usually only used as a hobby or to provide distraction from everyday routines. Aerobic sports should be either very vigorous lasting 15 minutes or at least moderately vigorous lasting half an hour and performed thrice a week, to condition the heart and lungs. If aerobic sports are neither vigorous nor moderate, it will not condition the heart or lungs. However, they nevertheless are enjoyable and can help to improve coordination, tone the muscles and also help to relieve tension. Aerobic sports are ideally done just before one takes the evening meal. Remember that you should spend at least five minutes to warm up before doing aerobic sports and then spend at least fifteen to thirty minutes and finally, you should spend five minutes cooling down. For good aerobic sports routine, you should exercise as briskly as you can for at least fifteen minutes to a maximum of half an hour, three times every week. Besides the mentioned sports above, brisk walking can also be a form of aerobic sports. For brisk walking, remember to put on comfortable and properly fitted walking or running shoes. You should do some stretching before and during the brisk walk. However, heavy stretching should be done only after the aerobic sports have been completed. When doing brisk walking as aerobic sports, you should remember not to walk too quickly. Brisk walking for aerobic sports should be done at a pace which is comfortable for you. You should walk in quick stride and make sure your feet land on heals. Keep your head straight and your hips level. Your shoulders should be relaxed when doing brisk walking as aerobic sports and don't forget to bend your arms slightly. Swimming can also be considered aerobic sports. Remember to always do your swimming laps with a lifeguard nearby and remember to wear a comfortable swimsuit. You should also do warm ups before you start, just like when doing any other aerobic sports.
